I'm small, swampy, and saucy. I enjoy reading and making anything: dresses, ice cream, gumbo, you-name-it. I'm a writer. Seamstress. Bookworm. I'm crafty—and crafty. A world-traveling homegirl. A restless relaxer. A centered space case. I'm solar powered and love warm places.

Professionally, I have over 18 years experience writing and editing for some of the biggest names in publishing: Conde Nast, Hearst, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. I specialize in digital content, concentrating on food and dining, family and relationship, bridal, home decor and crafts, plus health and fitness. I'm the dining critic for Austin Monthly, a freelance writer for the likes of Tasting Table, Today.com/Food, and a consulting copywriter and content strategist for major consumer brands, such as Capital One and ScottsMiracle-Gro.

I've been the deputy digital editor for Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine; a senior web editor of the joint Hearst-MSN food site, Delish; a web editor for SELF magazine; a home and garden editor for Women.com; and a kitchen and entertaining editor for the award-winning food site, Epicurious.com, where I worked with some major names in food and entertaining, including Jamie Oliver, Mark Bittman, Leah Chase, Amy Sedaris, and Ted Allen.

I've also written for StuffPaper Magazine, and Crochet Today! and was, once upon a time, a sex and relationship columnist for MaximOnline.com. I'm currently a freelance writer, content strategist, and digital editor for hire, working with such amazing clients as Whole Foods Market and Hearst Digital. I'm also a regular contributor to Brides.com, Tasting Table, and Delish.com.

When I switch to my crafter’s hat, I practice bookbinding, needlework, and dressmaking. I'm a puppetmaker, as well, and I appeared on several episodes of Uncommon Threads‘s first season, demonstrating embroidery projects I conceived for the show.

Originally from New Orleans (yeah, you rite!), I recently moved from Brooklyn (16 years!) to Austin, Texas, with my writer/web producer husband, floppy-haired son, and cranky cat.
